I am a Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapist with a Master's Degree in Psychotherapy.

My training in psychotherapy and counselling has spanned over four years. I have more than six years experience working with clients, which amounts to over 1000 therapy hours. I love my work and believe deeply in the power of therapeutic change.

I am a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, which simply means that I’ve been trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches (Gestalt, Existential, Psychodynamic, Person Centered & Psychoanalytic). I ‘integrate’ different parts of each approach and will use these as appropriate with each client. We all have a unique set of needs and experiences, and so different approaches will be suited to different people. The ‘humanistic’ element means that I believe all humans have the capacity to change and grow. Building trust in the therapy relationship together is a really important factor in this.

What has been most inspiring in my work with clients is witnessing the capacity that they have to improve their lives. I have seen first hand the resilience of people and their ability to overcome, and this is a humbling and moving experience. There is no magic wand, but therapy works when we commit to the process. For me, it is about building trust, developing tools, and gaining personal understanding so that life’s interactions and experiences feel less daunting.

My Clients.

My clients' journey and experience always come first. Each client is unique. I am committed to meeting you without judgement, whatever your story.

Change.

We humans all have the capacity to change and grow, and psychotherapy can support you on this path.

It’s time to challenge the stigma around psychotherapy and the idea that is reserved for people with serious mental health issues.

Worthiness.

Everyone’s problems matter. There is no barometer of worthiness when it comes to counselling and psychotherapy. You are worthy of the investment in yourself and improving your mental health.

My own journey with Psychotherapy.

As part of my training to become a psychotherapist, I have had over 120 hours of personal therapy. I understand what it’s like to be sitting in the other chair. I know how scary it can be to ask for help, and to talk about things that feel deeply personal, shameful or difficult. It’s not easy to be vulnerable, I understand this because I’ve been there. I’m very grateful to my own therapist who guided me without judgment on my personal therapy journey.

I’ve always been fascinated by people, what they feel, what makes them tick, how we interact as human beings. My interest in psychotherapy and counselling began early in life, when I witnessed people seeking help, finding therapy, and overcoming hurdles. I am proud and grateful to be working in a profession that I believe in.

I am fully accredited with the Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP). This organisation is one of the most highly regarded accrediting bodies in Ireland. I attend regular personal and group supervision to ensure that I am practicing safely and ethically. I also attend regular professional development events relevant to psychotherapy and counselling.

My goal is to demystify and normalise psychotherapy so that people feel worthy and deserving of the kind of support that can positively impact every aspect of their life, whatever their journey.
